After the end of World War II, the Slovenian restaurant owners tried to invent a variety of new additions to the menu. In doing so, they were most often inspired by established international dishes, which they slightly adapted to local and regional tastes and ingredients. This is how the Ljubljana steak was made - interpretation of the steak
»Le cordon bleu«. In either veal, pork, and later also turkey steak, they wrapped a slice of ham and cheese. But here at Pr Kopač we took a step further: we enriched the steak with delicious mushroom sauce.

Written sources from the 17th century report that, among the workers ("fakini") in the city port on the bank of Ljubljanica (while it was still navigable), the most popular choice for lunch was a meal called "leteči žganci"."Žganci" (buckwheat, barley, wheat) were a very widespread everyday dish, often a dish of poverty and survival.
That is why the delicious fried chicken legs and wings have this witty, even ironic naming.
